Abstract
Ovaj diplomski rad posvećen je analizi vojno-redarstvene operacije „Oluja“ u kojoj je 1995. Hrvatska vojska oslobodila veliki dio teritorija Republike Hrvatske. Navode se vojno-politički događaji kojima je Hrvatskoj nametnut rat, objašnjava način na koji su pobunjeni hrvatski Srbi uz pomoć JNA okupirali veliki dio teritorija Republike Hrvatske, zatim se ukratko opisuju vojne operacije kojima je Hrvatska vojska oslobađala dijelove okupiranog teritorija. Naposljetku se provela detaljna analiza operacije Oluja prema Zbornim područjima uzimajući u obzir djelovanje Hrvatskog ratnog zrakoplovstva, specijalnih postrojbi. Operacija Oluja predstavlja najveću vojnu operaciju kojom su Hrvatska vojska i policija oslobodile područja pod nadzorom pobunjenih Srba, na kojima je bila uspostavljena tzv. Republika Srpska Krajina. Operacijom Oluja nakon dugih pet godina rata oslobođeno je 10400 četvornih kilometara što je zapravo 18,4% ukupne površine Republike Hrvatske za što se zasigurno može reći da je predstavljalo ključnu prekretnicu u ratu.
Abstract (english)
This master's thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the military and police operation "Operation Storm" in which the Croatian Army liberated a large part of the territory of the Republic of Croatia in 1995. It discusses the military and political events that led to the war imposed on Croatia, explains how the rebel croatian Serbs, with the assistance of the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA), occupied a large part of the territory of the Republic of Croatia. It then briefly describes the military operations conducted by the Croatian Army to liberate the occupied territories. Finally, a detailed analysis of Operation Storm is conducted, focusing on the Operational areas and considering the actions of the Croatian air force and special forces. Operation Storm represents the largest military operation through which the Croatian Army and police liberated areas under the control of the rebel Serbs, where the so-called Republic of Serbian Krajina had been established. With Operation Storm, after five years of war, 10,400 square kilometers were liberated, which represents 18.4% of the total area of the Republic of Croatia for which can certainly be said to have been a crucial turning point in the war.
